The only problem I see with majic jack is that it works off the internet and in order to get phone calls, the internet always has to be on.
I feel that it leaves your computer open to spammers and malware and worse, hackers because it has a static ip address.
But they have sold and are being bought because people want to save money in our existing economy.
I would do more research before buying it. I’m sure if you do a search you will find tons of info good and bad.

Verizon-They give you Unlimited Nights and Weekends,but then theres Cingular Go Phone.Their Plans,Give you unlimited nights and weekends to only certain plans on Cingular.And Also,there is no Company that Im aware of that gives you Free Texting.So you might as well go to Cingular Because their Minutes are cheaper than Verizon.I just purchased a 25$ Card for my account yesterday,and Every $100 you use filling your account,you get a $20.00 Bonus.Im looking at the Card now,and It says For Cingular:

Unlimited Talk to all AT&T Wireless Customers(On A Select Plan)
No Annual Contract or Credit Checks
Rollover Balances
Good for Talk Time,Texting,Games,Graphics,and More.

You could try sprint I have unlimted minutes and nights and weekends. I spend around 70 with taxes and all..Hope this helps.

To the best of my knowledge, no.
VoIP services do not issue phone numbers to cellular phones. Those numbers are issued by your cellular service provider.

When VoIP services issue phone numbers, those phone numbers are linked to your VoIP account, not an actual telephone or cell. Phone numbers linked to VoIP accounts are referred to as Virtual Numbers (or, more correctly called a DID – Direct Inbound Dialling number).

To receive those phone calls to your DID, you have to be on a computer that is on the Internet and logged into your VoIP account.
Or, have an ATA (analog telephone adapter) box connected to the Internet which is logged into your VoiP account, which then plugs into your regular telephone.

The only way to get those DID phone calls to your cell phone is to subscribe to a VoIP service that provides DID’s in Pakistan and then have those incoming calls forwarded to your cell phone.

CallCentric and InPhonex are two VoIP service that has DID’s world-wide, including Pakistan. (find the link through my profile).

Once you have acquired an "International DID" for Pakistan, then you can configure your web account to forward all incoming calls for your DID number to your Cell Phone number (or any other number for that matter).

No. You need to pass a credit check. Once you do that, you can pay for the phone with cash, credit card or debit card. The monthly charges will appear in a bill that’s mailed to you each month.

Im pretty sure it is *86 , I worked for Verizion earlier this year, if that is incorrect you can always drop into your local VW store and ask an associate or simply call their 24 hr customer care hotline.

The phone behaves just like an iPod Touch when it does not have phone service. Obvious things won’t work like cellular internet access, text messaging, GPS, location services, etc.

All other software not requiring network access (there are a few) will work fine.

Actually, you do NOT have to change your plan. You can choose to go month to month. However, if you upgrade, you WILL be forced to sign a Cingular contract. Now if you really want a new phone, simply buy a compatible phone (one that runs on ATT and Cingular frequencies) and pop your SIM into it. Period, end of story. You have the right to keep your existing plan without changes and without a contract as long as your payments are on time. They are trying to get you to roll over, however they cannot strong arm you. To see which phones are compatible, hit up http://www.gsmarena.com and http://www.phonescoop.com and look for the ones that run on 850 and 1900 ( or says Cingular / ATT)
